Same length, different idea

At Sultan Spa both the Hot Stone Massage and the Mandara Massage are 50-minute sessions. The time is the same, but the idea behind each one is different: one works with heat, the other with the coordination of two therapists. What you expect from a massage decides which one suits you.

What happens in a hot stone massage?

Warm, smooth stones accompany the massage strokes and are placed on certain points of the body. The pace is slow and the feeling of warmth is at the centre of the session. Heat preference is personal, so tell your therapist at the start how warm you would like the stones.

How does a Mandara massage work?

Mandara is a four-hand massage given by two therapists moving in sync. Both sides of the body are worked at the same time, so the flow is continuous and rhythmic. First-time guests often say they stop following individual movements and simply follow the rhythm, which is what sets this massage apart.

Which one should you choose?

Look at hot stone if you want a calm, warm, slow session. Mandara may suit you better if you are after something different, flowing and special. Either can follow a hammam ritual; in that case a short break in the relaxation area between the bath and the massage is a good idea.

Before you book

Both massages need therapist and room planning, so we recommend sending a request in advance; Mandara requires two therapists at the same time. You can add pressure and heat preferences in the note field. If there is anything about your health we should know, please speak to our team directly rather than writing it in the form.
